Cookies and browser storage

The microsite distinguishes two categories of browser storage. Essential storage is always on and is required for the site to function. Optional analytics storage is off by default and is only loaded after you explicitly accept it in the consent banner.

Essential storage includes navigation state, the admin authentication session for ISMAI staff and the record of your own cookie preference (so the consent banner is not shown again on every visit). This category cannot be disabled without breaking core site functionality.

When configured, the microsite can load Google Analytics 4 and Plausible Analytics. Both are treated as non-essential and are only loaded after you select Accept analytics in the consent banner. Until you accept, no GA4 or Plausible script is injected into the page and no analytics request is sent.

If you previously accepted analytics and later reject, no further analytics scripts will be injected. Scripts already loaded into the current page are cleared on the next full page reload.

Public submission forms may use an anti-spam challenge such as Cloudflare Turnstile. This is essential to protect the secretariat from automated abuse and is not gated by the analytics preference.

Paid registration is processed by Stripe Checkout. When a delegate proceeds to payment, the browser is redirected to a payment page hosted by Stripe. Stripe may set its own cookies and use its own storage on those pages. ISMAI does not control or read Stripe-hosted cookies once the delegate is redirected. Stripe's own cookie and privacy notices apply during that step.

Operational email related to registration is sent server-side from the configured email service. This does not set cookies in the delegate's browser.

External pages linked from the microsite, such as host institution pages, partner organisations and ISMAI where used for any onsite or operational arrangements, are subject to the cookie policies of those third parties.

Cookies and local storage can also be managed in the settings of any modern browser. Clearing site data will reset your analytics preference and the consent banner will be shown again on your next visit.
