Biography

Dr Francesco Venneri is Responsabile GRC, the head of the Centre for Clinical Risk Management and Patient Safety of the Tuscany Region. The Centre, established in 2003 and a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre since 2016, is dedicated to promoting a culture of safety and organisational learning, to testing safety practices in real clinical settings and to assessing their effectiveness and limitations. His professional work centres on clinical-risk governance, incident reporting and learning, patient-safety improvement and the translation of safety methods into regional healthcare practice. He holds the qualifications MD, PhD and FACS, and contributes to international patient-safety dialogue, including through World Health Organization activities.
