Nabil Zary, BSc Medicine, PhD

Biography

Professor Nabil Zary is Professor of Medical Education and Senior Director of the Institute for Excellence in Health Professions Education at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences in Dubai. His career brings together medicine, technology and education. He holds a BSc in Biomedical Laboratory Sciences, a BSc in Medicine and a PhD in Medical Education and Simulation from the Karolinska Institutet. Before moving to Dubai in 2019 he held academic appointments at the Karolinska Institutet and a visiting associate professorship at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine of Nanyang Technological University. His research addresses serious games, extended reality, applied artificial intelligence, technology standards, learning analytics and ubiquitous learning for patients and the healthcare workforce. At MBRU he directs and teaches across postgraduate programmes in health-professions education, including master's, postgraduate diploma and postgraduate certificate pathways.
