Biography
Dr Omar Tujjar is Consultant Anaesthesiologist at the National Orthopaedic Hospital Cappagh in Dublin, where he serves as Honorary Secretary of the Medical Board and as a member of the Executive Management Team. He is Founder and Chairman of the International Society of Medical AI (ISMAI), holding the qualifications MD, MA, MPH, EDAIC and EDRA. His professional activity brings together clinical anaesthesia, hospital medical leadership and the governance of artificial intelligence in healthcare. He trained and practised in Italy, France and Ireland, completed a clinical and research fellowship in intensive care at Erasme University Hospital in Brussels, and coordinated intensive-care activity during the COVID-19 response at Sligo University Hospital. His engagement with medical AI is grounded in clinically accountable, patient-centred and ethically governed adoption.
